Botaniculture - Glen Waverly
Stepping into Botaniculture is like entering a modern conservatory—where nature, sustainability, and design converge in perfect harmony. The store’s immersive presentation captivates instantly, with eco-friendly lighting, reclaimed timber planks, and a refined British Colonial-inspired palette setting the stage for its vibrant botanical offerings.
Located at the main entrance of the groundbreaking Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre—hailed as the world’s most sustainable shopping destination under the prestigious Living Building Challenge—Botaniculture’s design demanded a meticulous, forward-thinking approach. Every detail was carefully considered, from VOC compliance and ESD principles to the exclusive use of non-toxic materials, sustainable adhesives, eco-friendly fixings, and locally sourced elements.
The result? A space that not only showcases nature’s beauty but also embodies a commitment to environmental integrity, setting a new benchmark for sustainable retail design.

“Firstly, we would like to thank Mr Bankes for his time and patience though the design process.
Michael was always available with changes to the plan and was there to help us every step of the way. The end result is the most stunning bespoke design that is not only beautiful but also sustainable. Once again you have exceeded our expectations and made our dreams come to life.
Thank You.”
