Crowsnest. The owners of the proposed ‘The Absconder’ cafe located in the heart of the beachside suburb of Sorrento, were planning to utilise a space above the cafe that would offer the locals an evening venue to enjoy a good drink and great company. The proposed cocktail lounge was to compliment the beautifully planned English provincial interior of the cafe. With the local story of William Buckley, an earlier settler convict who absconded from his incarceration and the location of the bar being upstairs, a fitting name for the venue was created, The Crowsnest’.
