Patient Wolf Gin Distillery - Southbank
Melbourne’s thriving gin culture has reached new heights with the stunning Patient Wolf Distillery in Southbank. Nestled among soaring blue-glass city towers, just moments from the Yarra Boulevard and a vibrant dining scene, this transformed space delivers an internationally inspired distilling experience.
Located in a 1940s red-brick warehouse, the distillery interior underwent a dramatic reinvention, with the entire second level removed to reveal an expansive 8.5-metre-high truss ceiling—providing ample space for both production and administration.
At its heart lies a sensory gin experience, where visitors can immerse themselves in handcrafted distillation. The addition of a Bar & Lounge elevates the space, featuring Juniper Berry-blue walls, black crushed velvet drapery, cream upholstery, smoked mirrors, and a striking 7.5-metre brass bar—a sophisticated setting to savour Patient Wolf’s expertly crafted spirits.

Testimonial:
“Moving from Brunswick to Southbank was a monumental undertaking for Patient Wolf Distilling Co. of which Mike Bankes was critical to the success. Mike helped identify the building, had the vision for being able to contain a working distillery with a fully serviced cocktail bar, focusing on tasting and education. Mike managed the process start to finish including the design, managing council permits, managing trade resulting in a spectacular New York Loft style bar that showcases the Patient Wolf brand and incorporates the exquisite Mueller Copper still as a centrepiece.”
